The Tree kangaroo and Mammal group are based on the Atherton Tableland up behind Cairns, in North Queensland.
They’re particularly interested in looking after Lumholtz’s and Bennett’s tree kangaroos (as they’re found in the area) as well as a whole range of other native Australian marsupials. (That’s a Lumholtz tree kangaroo on their logo.)
If you live in Atherton or Cairns or anywhere else nearby, you might like to think about asking your school teacher to give these folks a ring and see if they’d like to come to your school to tell you more about tree kangaroos.
Tell them, ‘Hello, from Widodo!’
